The Farmers’ Social Insurance Institution Mela

Mela handles the social security of farmers and grant recipients. It insures farmers, fishermen, reindeer herders and grant recipients. The operations of Mela are governed by the Farmers’ Pensions Act.

The Seafarer’s Pension Fund

The Seafarer’s Pension Fund is a pension provider that handles the pensions of sailors employed by Finnish merchant vessels sailing in international waters, as well as the sailors working on ice-breakers.

The Seafarer’s Pension Fund grants and pays out earnings-related pensions to sailors under the Seafarer’s Pensions Act.
